Another UVA couple, yay! :) We really lucked out with an absolutely beautiful (only slightly chilly) Sunday afternoon at Great Falls Park. They brought their beautiful dog Lia with them, too, and she made for some super cute portraits. It was actually Katie’s birthday, so I was honored that they chose to spend their afternoon snapping some lovely pictures with me.

Ryana & Jonathan | Engagement
First DC engagement session and I was instantly in love with everything about this shoot! And I met this beauty in my first photo class I took in college at UVA, so this session is near and dear to my heart.
Ryana and Jonathan met in their first semester of their first year at UVA because they lived in the same dorm (go old dorms!), and they’ve been rocking it in the cutest-couple department ever since. As a nod to their origins, we started out at the Jefferson Memorial on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and the light was absolutely stunning. These two were such a pleasure to photograph - I just can’t get over how lovely they are.
Kathleen & James | Engagement
This was the second engagement shoot (and second shoot ever) that I went on with Vicki Grafton Photography. It was in Old Town Alexandria - a super pain to drive to during rush hour because it was during the golden/rush hour around 6pm. BUT it was way worth it, gorgeous light and a super sweet couple. The best part... Vicki let me use one of her 645 Contax (medium format film) cameras to shoot a couple rolls of film! I had a bit of trouble with the focusing but I was still pretty pleased with the images. :)
Kira & Mike | Engagement
Over the first weekend of May, I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely couple to celebrate their engagement. I’ve known Mike since 5th grade, and Kira since 8th grade, so it was almost surreal to be photographing them as they prepare to join their lives together in marriage. I just love high school sweethearts stories! Mike proposed to Kira on the Brooklyn Bridge on December 6th, 2013 - in the rain at night (the perfect time to be on the Brooklyn Bridge because no one else was there). So what better place than the Brooklyn Bridge to take their engagement photos?! We wandered around for a few hours snapping away, and I wish I could have had even longer than that. Such a lovely couple.
